MCS Explained
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) gives consumers the guarantee that certified microgeneration products and the installers of those products have conformed to a rigorous set of standards.
It is designed to evaluate microgeneration products and installers against robust criteria providing greater protection for consumers. MCS is supported by the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
We recommend that installs in Northern Ireland after 1st April 2010, that the product is fully MCS approved, to avoid the potential for problems when Northern Ireland moves to Feed In tariff (FIT), when grandfathering rule is applied. In addition, here in Northern Ireland, as an MCS approved installer, only selling MCS approved products, you are now elegiable for NIE Top-Up grant, which can be upto £4,500 per domestic install for a Gaia Wind Turbine
